Partnership Between PALIG and SERINSA

Panama City, Panama ‑ September 11, 2023. Pan‑American Life Insurance of Panama (PALIG), a company recognized for its expertise in life and health insurance, and SERINSA, a social enterprise dedicated to the sale of microinsurance, have entered into a strategic agreement with the goal of supporting the development of microinsurance in Panama. This partnership seeks to provide protection to low‑income people, while helping to increase financial inclusion in the country.
Microinsurance is an essential tool for reducing low‑income people’s vulnerability to risk factors such as death, accidents, and illnesses that could affect their health. It offers affordable solutions that are tailored to the needs of this population segment, playing a crucial role in building a more equitable, secure financial environment.
In keeping with their commitment to provide opportunities for protection and security to a population sector that has traditionally been excluded from access to quality financial services, SERINSA and PALIG have decided to join forces in several countries in the region. This strategic partnership has already been successfully implemented in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, where thousands of people have reaped its benefits.
In line with its regional expansion strategy and its focus on financial inclusion, SERINSA has decided to collaborate with PALIG in joint operations in Panama. This partnership will be supported by the robust ecosystem offered by REDCAMIF (Central American and Caribbean Microfinance Network), which will amplify the impact and coverage of microinsurance in the country.
The agreement between SERINSA and PALIG is a significant step toward providing protection and security to low‑income people in Panama.
