Panama, March XX, 2022. Pan‑American Life (PALIG), the leading Personal Insurance company in Panama, marked the start of its celebration of 110 years serving families and companies by officially launching the new look and feel of its app, PALIG Telemedicina. This service, implemented with great success at the end of 2020 in collaboration with SEMM, has facilitated the diagnosis of patients with a range of illnesses, providing personalized follow‑up in the comfort of their own homes.
“The essence of our company is to take care of people’s health and well‑being. And although our industry has clearly been particularly impacted by the risk to which we are exposed, we have met our commitment to our policyholders, by paying out claims for COVID and being there when they need us most," said Tony Eleta, Country Manager of PALIG Panama.
The Telemedicine service has become a crucial tool in making medical care more accessible and significantly reducing travel time and costs for PALIG Panama insureds. It has been used for the treatment of illnesses and ailments such as the flu, infections, allergies, migraine, nausea and vomiting, and minor injuries, for both primary insureds and their dependents.
It is undeniable that the pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation of medicine and the establishment of a model of effective, virtual care offering remote access to a host of medical specialties. This has proven advantageous not only for timely diagnosis, but also for the prevention of complications. We want our insureds to see the benefits of free, immediate, patient‑centered access through the app,” concluded Country Manager Tony Eleta.
Pan‑American Life’s Telemedicine service is available for an unlimited time. It applies to Individual Health Policies (Health Trust, Family Medical Care, and Pan‑American Private Client Major Medical) and Corporate Health Policies. Service is provided from Monday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 24 hours a day through PALIC S.O.S. at 800‑4200.
The application, with its new look and feel, is available for download from the Apple App Store and the Android Play Store, under the name PALIG Telemedicina.
